FAQ

I- What Kind of Massages do you offer?

  • Swedish = promotes circulation and helps rids the body of metabolic waste. This technique is usually how massage therapy is universally portrayed.
  • Myofascial = Equates to a stretching technique
  • Neuromuscular = A Deep tissue process I used to address those deep and somewhat difficult to reach areas. The application of the techniques may be intense for the client, but have proven effective in alleviating pain.
  • Reflexology = This technique is one that focus on the body’s core. With Reflexology the goal is to provide relaxation to organs and glands that undergo stress brought on by internal tense filled moments.
  • Sports massage = Focuses on areas of the client’s body that are under stress and tension mainly caused by the engagement and dedication to a sport. It’s not just for athletes, but anyone who regularly does a repetitive motion such as an athlete.
  • Prenatal = The techniques used are to provide relaxation to areas bothered by the changes expecting mothers experience during the nine months of maternity. Often places like the lower back, knees and legs feel the addition weight brought on by the little bundles growing inside. The techniques I used help to reduce the discomfort, promote increased circulation and reduce stress.

VI- Do you accept insurance payment?

Yes,I do accept insurance payment. It is the client who needs to know if their policy provides medical massage therapy as part of their plan. I would prefer being paid by my client rather then wait weeks for payment. I can and would provide a detailed receipt of my work in order for my client to get reimbursed from the insurance provider.

VII- What is your cancellation policy?

As a professional courtesy to me, other potential clients seeking the same time slot and to maintain reasonable pricing, I would like at least a 24 hour notice by phone or email of a cancellation in order to avoid an additional $25.00 charge to the fee of the massage.

VIII- Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, in addition to cash, personal checks and money orders.

IX- Can I buy a gift certificate and if so how?

Yes. You can make a time to exchange payment for the certificate with me. You can purchase a gift certificate simply by calling or emailing me with mailing information. Once I’ve received payment I will mail the certificate to the address you specify.

X – How often should one get massaged?

This is probably the trickiest question to answer as a massage therapist. In fact I would imagine for any therapist. I think it depends on the goal of the client. If a client is physically very active then I usually recommend once a week.

If a client is clinically in chronic pain I suggest at least once a week. If a client has difficulty dealing with stress and feels often under the arrest of the stress then I strongly suggest a once a week visit.

XI - I prefer a female therapist. Do you have a female therapist working with you?

Yes, I can arrange to have a female therapist work with you. But being that I work in a private practice it would take some arranging.

XII – What do I wear while receiving the massage?

A client can wear or not what they are most comfortable. Most clients remove their clothing allowing me access to the areas that trouble them knowing that I will use cream, oil or lotion. While I’m working the client’s body is covered with a sheet from head to toe. I only reveal what body area I’m currently working on.
